This project was a complete yard revitalization designed to maximize the use and appeal of the property, integrating it seamlessly with the surrounding Pacific Northwest environment. The design successfully creates three distinct modern outdoor rooms—a covered dining area, a relaxed fire pit lounge, and an intimate entry garden—each serving a unique purpose. Utilizing a palette of light concrete, warm wood furniture, and fine gravel, the landscape provides a clean, contemporary contrast to the mature trees of the forest setting, making it perfect for year-round entertaining.

Features of the Courtyard and Garden

• Covered Pergola Dining: A spacious, white pergola extends from the home, defining the main patio and providing a protected area for a large outdoor dining table and integrated kitchen, ideal for hosting.
• Gravel Fire Pit Lounge: A large, dedicated leisure zone is established using crushed gravel, featuring a built-in circular fire pit and ample space for relaxed wood-and-upholstery seating.
• Intimate Entry Courtyard: The entryway features a serene water fountain and lush, romantic plantings like climbing roses, creating a welcoming and tranquil first impression.
• Multi-zone Hardscaping: The use of concrete and gravel, separated by strips of artificial turf or planting, provides visual zoning that clearly defines each functional space without sacrificing flow.
